Theron W. Whitfield, 87, of Elk Grove, beloved husband of the late Alice N., nee Koenig; fond brother of Hazel W. Woody; dear uncle of several nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday 3 until 8 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee Street, Des Plaines, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. Theron was a teacher at Maine East High School for 30 years, where he taught electronics, was a guidance counselor, and constructed the first high school FM radio station. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Air Corps, and a graduate of the University of Minnesota, where he received a Master\u2019s degree in Industrial Arts. Info: 847-824-5155<\/p>\n\n\n\n
